We’re professional women juggling careers, families, and always chasing the next thing that makes life richer. Then mahjong found us — and we were hooked. Fast-paced, fun, and genuinely sharp, it’s the kind of game that keeps your mind engaged and your group text buzzing.
We fell in love fast — but finding others to play with? That was another story. Open games simply didn’t exist in our area so thought that needed to change. So we changed it.
Mahjong deserves to be understood and appreciated for what it truly is. Rooted in Chinese culture and believed to have originated during the Qing Dynasty, the game traveled across Asia and around the world — embraced and beautifully reimagined by Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and other cultures along the way. The version most commonly played in the U.S. was adapted in the 1920s, but no matter which variation you play, the heart of the game is the same: people gathered together, sharing something meaningful.
That spirit of togetherness is exactly what A Mahj Moment is built on. This is for everyone who’s tile-curious, newly obsessed, or a longtime player looking for their people.
